Oklahoma Route 66 photographs
I began making my "serious" Route 66 photographs in the year 1980, while en route to an assignment in Dallas. Most of this page's pictures are from that year. I say "serious", because in 1947 I had the good fortune to hitch a ride to Los Angeles along Route 66 with my uncle. He drove a 1939 Ford which pulled a 33' travel trailer. Knowing I wanted to become a photographer, he stopped anywhere I asked, so I could make my photos along the way.
